Board Members

Are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors of POSITIVE LIVING BC?

Have you heard good, bad, or indifferent things in or about the BC HIV/AIDS community?

If so, consider running for the POSITIVE LIVING BC Board of Directors. Any HIV+ person in BC who is a Member of the Society can become a Board Director. Serving on the Board gives you the opportunity to speak up for yourself and for others.

Listen. Be Heard. Be a Voice for Others. You Can Make a Difference.

There are two ways of becoming a Board Director:

  • Election

There are 11 Board Members who sit on the Board of Directors. Each serve staggered, two-year terms, so each year there are at least 5 Directors elected by POSITIVE LIVING BC Members at the Annual General Meeting.

Every year in June nominations are invited from those Members who are interested in sitting on the Board of Directors. All candidates need to be nominated by another Member, and submit their nomination forms to the Returning Officer by the set date in July.

Ballots are then mailed out to all Members and a vote for the Board of Directors is conducted by mail-in ballot. The results of the vote are announced at the Annual General Meeting.

  • Appointment

Between Annual General Meetings, if a vacancy arises the Board may also appoint additional Board Directors at their discretion.

To be considered for appointment to the Board, you can express your interest by completing the online Nomination Form.
