What do you like about working here?
I like hearing people’s success stories, no matter how small. BCPWA is a workplace where I can be who I am. I like that humour can play a part in healing. Lastly I really like the everyday heroes I meet.
What do you like about working here?
I enjoy the opportunity to give back to the community, I get to work with Jackie (no payment was received for this endorsement), and BCPWA is in the beautiful city of Vancouver.
What do you like about working here?
I love working here. The best part is working with the volunteers and staff who are great people and nice people to know.
What do you think needs changing?
Our physical plant-I would like to see neighbourhood storefront spaces located in the West End and Commercial Drive, which include a Member’s Internet Café.
A longer term for Board members so staff has more of an opportunity to work with individuals, to get to know each other and what we do.
What do you think needs changing?
What do you think needs changing?
We definitely need a bigger building with other associated agencies in the same building to give a one-stop place for people to get help.
What are/is BCPWA’s strongest assets?
Committed volunteer teams, TIP, the Newsletter, intelligent, caring Staff
What are/is BCPWA’s strongest assets?
Two things: BCPWA’s Volunteers and Staff and it’s Focus on empowerment.
What are/is BCPWA’s strongest assets?
Not to be biased but I like the work support services does and the helpful attitude the staff and volunteers have.
What’s your favourite memory during your time here?
Since I’ve been here so long I want to share three favourite memories:
1) Seeing an extremely fragile Kevin Brown walk across the spot lit floor of the Commodore Ballroom to be received by the Court at a Coronation Ball in the late 80’s. The place was packed, everyone was on his or her feet cheering and applauding. The noise was tremendous and there wasn’t a dry eye or a still hand in the place.
2) My 10 year BCPWA Anniversary party organized by Gil Ferguson.
3) Protesting loudly and theatrically with my PWA colleagues during the International Conference in Geneva.
What’s your favourite memory during your time here?
Two things come to mind, being able to work with the Boys-R-Us program and the day when my former member of parliament walked to the information desk and proclaimed "Hello my name is Ross Harvey"
What’s your favourite memory during your time here?
Laughing with the staff and volunteers at the front desk which happens basically every day.
What your future vision for BCPWA?
The storefronts as I mentioned before, along with the organization being housed in a modern, large, bright facility with an outside deck, adjacent clinic, cheery kitchen, bodywork rooms and gymnasium for physical activities with a stage.
Eventually, extinction due to medical/healing miracles.
What your future vision for BCPWA?
I look forward to a day when we are not needed
What your future vision for BCPWA?
Not to be needed
