The Front

HEART
Function – Maintains the flow of blood through the entire circulatory system.
The Best Exercise – Continuous aerobic movement (running, biking, etc.)

CHEST
Function – Provides upper body power; draws arms forward.
The Best Exercise – Push-ups.

FRONT SHOULDER
Function – Draws arms forward.
The Best Exercise – Military barbell press.

ABDOMINALS
Function – Flex the trunk and support the upper body.
The Best Exercise – Bent-knee sit-ups.

BICEPS
Function – Flex elbows and supinate forearms.
The Best Exercise – Front dumbbell curls.

OBLIQUES
Function – Rotate the trunk.
The Best Exercise – Seated barbell twists.

FOREARMS
Function – Control fingers and wrists.
The Best Exercise – Dumbbell wrist curls.

HANDS
Function – The many muscles of the hand provide grip strength.
The Best Exercise – Hand gripper or squeezing a tennis ball

THIGHS
Function – Extend knees and flex hips.
The Best Exercise – Front dumbbell lunges.

FEET
Function – These 19 muscles support the toes and arch, which in turn minimize the impact of walking and running.
The Best Exercise – Walking on toes.
